JOHN HAUETER

John Haueter
Johann (John) Friedrich Haueter was born January 9, 1859 in Zollikofen, Bern
district Switzerland. When he was 23 he married Elisa Schwab on March 25,
1882. She was born May 16, 1860 in Arch, Bern district Switzerland.

Soon after the married the couple immigrated to Michigan. They first settled
near Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County. Here they had three children and then in
1887 moved to Eagle Township, Clinton County. In Eagle they rented farms on
Grange and Hinman Roads before buying a farm on Hinman Road near State
Road. While in Eagle they had five more children. Elisa died October 13, 1913.
John died December 27, 1936.

John and Elisa had eight children:

Fredrick John was born October 15, 1882 and married Ina Baker on July 3,
1907. Ina was born July 29, 1889. They had three sons and two daughters.

Earnest George was born April 11, 1884 and married Lena McCrumb. Lena was
born August 06, 1886. They had four sons and six daughters. Earnest owned
dairy farms in Oneida township Canada Settlement area.

Martha Mina was born April 07, 1886 and married Paul Volk on February 06,
1907. Paul was born October 21, 1874. They had four sons and four daughters.

Herman Louis was born April 16, 1888 and married Mary Green on November
09, 1909. Mary was born July 19, 1890. They had five sons and two daughters.
Herm owned a farm on Eaton Hwy near Delta township.

Carl William was born March 25, 1892. Carl stayed on the home farm on Hinman
Road. He shared this home with Miss Frankie Preston. They had no children.

Emma was born August 30, 1895 and married Russell Moyer in June 1921.
Russell was born February 28, 1901. They had eight sons and six daughters.
Emma and Russell had farms on Grand River Hwy.

Ella was also born August 30, 1895 and married William Ingler in June 28, 1919.
William was born May 07, 1894. They had two daughters.

Benjamin Walter was born December 04, 1901. Ben married Laura King. They
had a home on Jenne Street in Grand Ledge.
