The Society encourages anyone interested in local history to join our membership. In
addition to donations and purchasing items from us, there are many ways you can support
the Society. Contact us!
You can help us!
Become a "photo historian!" Take your camera to area events, have double copies made of
your pictures, and send them to us. (It would be helpful if you can identify persons and dates
on photos.)
Closing down relatives' larger home as they downsize? Many treasures can be found there.
Scrapbooks and photo albums from the attic can provide vital links to the story of Grand
Ledge and its families.

House/property research
Video tapes or old home movies
Publications pertaining to the area
Are you the secretary of an organization? Send us the history of your club or organization.
Cemetery Records
Advertising memorabilia
Historic artifacts or furniture related to a person or place in the area.

The Society is always looking for willing volunteers to help in area events.
There are many opportunities for people of every age to help us. Students to Seniors are welcome and we can use your help! Some ways you can help are:

Help in cataloging our growing collections

History begins today!
Many people think of history as "old stuff" or about people no longer here. Wrong! History is
also about what that is happening today! Â Help the Society by sharing with us (and, thus, with
the present and future residents) any photographs, genealogies, family trees, house/property
research, video tapes, newspaper articles, and publications pertaining to the area. Assist us
in "leaving footprints" for the next generations to follow back into our time. Contact us and we
will be glad to archive any donation of appropriate information or lend us your treasured items
so that we can make copies and return the originals to you.
